I have been learning Sitar with Sayan Ghosh since 2020 and l am very satisfied with my progress. Sayan has a deep knowledge of Music and his teaching style is very comfortable and encouraging. He also provides opportunities for Student performances and projects and l have learnt a lot via these. I especially enjoy learning Tagore on Sitar.

I first came across Sayan on YouTube, where he had posted a lesson on meend. His instructions were so clear and easy to follow that I immediately felt inspired to learn from him. I sent him an email, and to my pleasant surprise, he personally replied and agreed to teach me.

Every bandish he taught me is beautiful and resonated with something deeper. Sayan is always very patient and kept motivating me through every step of my learning. Once, I suggested that he record his playing so that I could practice by imitating him. He gently replied, “You don’t want to play like me. You want to play like yourself.” That simple statement stayed with me — it reflected his wisdom, humility, and the true spirit of an artist.

Sayan is a musical genius. It’s rare to find someone so young with such depth of understanding and control over their art. I feel truly fortunate to have him as my teacher.

Have been following Sir since 2019 over youtube and other social media platforms, a great fan since then. I finally took admission in Sayan Ghosh Academy in the month of January and have been learning since the past 4 months as of now. Within this small period, I have learned many things including finger technique, notes, octaves, beats, rythm, and have already been able to attempt a raga. I didn’t expect this much progress in such a short time.

Sir teaches in small batches and pays individual attention to every single student separately.

Sayan Ghosh Academy also has their own sitar workshop where you can avail your own custom made sitar and get the after services and guidance as well. I recently got my concert grade sitar from Sir’s workshop and have been playing it for a week as of now, it sounds  amazing and looks great, exactly the way I imagined. I am immensely grateful to be a part of this Academy and would recommend the same to any sitar lover.
