নিসর্গ

প্রবল তপ্ত ঝলি ভীষণ গরজে,
বিজলিত ধরাতলে গম্ভীর খরজে।
নিনাদে শঙ্কাসম; সৌদামিনী জ‍্যোতি,
মোহিত করিল আজি মন্দ্র ষড়জে।

অশনি অশ্ববেগে ধায় রে গতিতে,
দুর্দম শক্তিশেল যেন নির্নিমেষে
করিয়াছে হাহাকার; সরব‌ কম্পনে।
কিবা কব কি শক্তি অশনি পতনে।

(বি দ্রঃ নিসর্গ একটি ঘূর্ণিঝড়ের নাম, এখানে কবিতার নাম, ঝড়ের নামেই কবিতার নামকরণ হয়েছে। ঘূর্ণিঝড় নিসর্গ ১ জুন ২০২০ তারিখে নিম্নচাপ হিসেবে উৎপত্তি লাভ করে।)

English Translation

Nisarga
Sayan Ghosh

Fierce and scorching, it roars in might,
Lightning-laced, the earth trembles in fright.
A tremor profound, like a spectral chime,
Enchanted by thunder’s solemn rhyme.

Like a tempest’s steed, the storm takes flight,
An unbridled force in relentless might.
The heavens wail in a trembling tone,
What power can stand when the tempest is thrown?

(Note: "Nisarga" was the name of a cyclone that formed as a depression on June 1, 2020. The poem is named after the storm itself.)
