Alpona by Sayan

This exquisite Alpona, a traditional Bengali floor art, was meticulously created by Sayan Ghosh in 2015 for Kali Puja and Diwali at his home. Using white fabric paint, he dedicated 10 days to crafting this intricate design, showcasing remarkable precision and devotion.

Alpona is more than decoration—it is a sacred tradition symbolizing prosperity and divine blessings. The detailed patterns, floral motifs, and symmetrical composition reflect Bengal’s rich artistic heritage. Traditionally made with rice flour paste, this modern adaptation preserves its essence while embracing contemporary materials.

With its mesmerizing circular design and ornate elements, this artwork is a tribute to spirituality, tradition, and artistic excellence, embodying the spirit of Diwali and Kali Puja.
